The prices above shows that 1&1 won the battle but that is just a marketing trick because that price only applies to single site on a single Login account and only for the first year. If you want to get another .com or .net site on the same price on a same login then you will have to pay 14.99 U$.
If you are only going to run a single site then it is good for two years because when you pay 14.99 next year on renewal then keeping the first Bill of 1$ in mind, you actually paid about 8$ each year. Here if you want to keep your details private then you have to pay couple of bux $$$ extra for private whois.

I recently checked that Alibaba Cloud is also in competition and is offering New .com domains at 7.99 U$ only which makes it the cheapest option available and its Renewal price is 8.99 U$. Which brings it in competition with the lowest price registrar NameSilo. Lets hope Alibaba keeps it that way forever and does not changes the prices in future.
Trick to save money
To save money then register a New Domain with Namecheap using coupons which are about 1 Us Dollar or with big discounts in percentage and coupons do help a lot registering a new domain specially on Namecheap.
After a year when there is about a month left in your domain expiry then transfer the domain to Namesilo it will cost less and you will have an extended year too it will be just like renewing your domain but will be cheaper than doing it on Namecheap because there are no big coupons for renewals on namecheap if you will find any it will be only about a 1 Us dollar discount which is useless because you will still have to pay about 9.69 which is more than Namesilo transfer and when you will have to pay regular billing it will cost less. The Namesilo succeeded to take place of Internet.bs because the renewal price of .com domain after a year is lower then internet.bs and the Namesilo also offers coupons which make it cheaper than internet.bs which has fixed price.
